Bridal Shower Rhyme Game

Have you ever played a bridal shower rhyme game? If not, you are missing out on a wonderful treat. A bridal shower rhyme game is usually played at a bridal shower and can be used as an ice breaker of sorts to lift the mood of the bridal shower attendees. A bridal rhyme game is relatively simple and will easily stimulate the fun factor for the event. There are many of these games readily available online. Below is a sample, or two of bridal shower rhyme games.

Sample Bridal Shower Rhyme Game

Since a bridal shower is one of the best places to play a rhyming game, why not start with this one. This is an easy rhyme game. It is called the “Wedding Rhyme Game” and it requires that you keep a point system. Typically you will get five points for something old, five points for something new and ten points each for something borrowed or something blue.

The first thing that players will need to do is listen to the game moderator announce the following statement:

  • “With that ring you did wed, give yourself five points for sharing your bed.”

Players will then give themselves five points if they have a wedding ring and then they will continue to count their jewelry. The second rhyme set goes like so:

  • “Count all your jewelry, necklaces, rings and such. They are worth one point each, how many do you have? Let’s see how much.”

Basically this particular rhyme game can last for a good ten to twenty minutes with bridal party participants taking the time out to count this or that and to rake in the points while doing so.

The Bridal Book Game

In this particular bridal rhyme game, there will be a self created wedding book that has the bride and groom’s names and wedding date on the cover. There are twelve pages in the entire book, yet the catch is that the bridal shower guests have to help create the book by passing it around and inserting fun facts and rhyming text. It may be a good idea to do this game while sitting in a circle and, to make it more fun, you can time each person. Let’s say that each person has thirty seconds to write a cohesive rhyme on a given page.

So, page one might start out saying something to the effect of,

  • “This game is totally fun but you will not know the winner until the game is done.”

Then the next page goes on to set the rules of the game. You can have the party moderator set the rules of the game up by having her write out the instructions for the rhyme game.

Design Your Own Rhyme Game

If you are the moderator of an upcoming bridal shower, you can feel free to get a little creative. In honing in on your creativity you can create the perfect bridal shower game.

Make it fun and exciting. The sky is the limit and all you really need to remember is that you should always use wedding party terms that rhyme. For example, take things back to your wild college days and have party members think of rhymes that coincide with the bride and the groom. They should be fun facts and the party moderator would start the fun. Each time a bridal party member flubs or can not think of a rhyme about the bride then she will need to take a shot of a particular liquor.

If you do not want to do a drinking rhyming game, then you can have an array of exotic foods that can be fed to the person or people who flub on their rhymes.  You make these games as fun as you want to, the bottom line is that you must use wedding scenarios or ideas related to the bride and groom.
