As mentioned in the introduction, opposites are negation of each other. When we talk about opposites though, remember that we are talking about the general condition. For example, tall and short are clearly opposites. However, do not get confused by relative height. A 5 foot 7 person is tall compared to a 5 foot person, yet that same person is short compared to a 6 foot 5 individual. When discussing opposites, try to keep relativity out of it, and just focus on the meaning of the terms.
